Stop & Sleep Venzone is our new accommodation facility that offers the magic of staying in the heart of The Most beautiful village in Italy, declared in 2017.
The rooms overlook the town hall square, right in front of the imposing Gothic-Venetian palace that dominates the medieval town considered “a sitting room within the walls”.
Declared a national monument, Venzone is one of the most extraordinary examples of restoration in the architectural and artistic field. Today it is the only example left in Friuli Venezia Giulia of a fortified town of the fourteenth century.

The town has been recognized “ideal village where it is good to live” by the European Community and Airone magazine. Embraced by imposing medieval walls and full of numerous historical monuments, it also allows you to shop for magnificent walks along the ancient Celtic path that connects the fifteenth-century churches that surround the town.

Stop & Sleep Venzone is also located on the Alpe Adria Radweg CAAR cycle path. A cross-border cycle route about 400 km long, which connects Salzburg, Villach, Venzone, Udine, Aquileia and Grado, it is a fascinating route from the mountain to the sea, which allows you to cross the most suggestive places of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

The town of Venzone is famous for having been razed to the ground by the 1976 earthquake and has been expertly rebuilt as it was in the Middle Ages. You can visit the Cathedral of Sant’Andrea and the Chapel of San Michele where you can see the Mummies kept in its Crypt.

In the village there are also two other permanent museums not to be missed: Tiere Motus – history of an earthquake and its people museum dedicated to the 1976 earthquake and the reconstruction of the town; Forests, Man, Economy in Friuli Venezia Giulia an exhibition on the relationship between man and forest in Friuli.
